DESIGN

"Designing around what we grow"

Working alongside nature and not against it, as a designer I believe it is our job to go (at least) that 1% more than climate positive. Our central value pillars are written before we start and reflected on when we complete each collection.

Being circular and regenerative is a must but to go that extra step you have to enrich not only the soils in biodiversity but you have to benefit all hands involved in making your designs.

The designs have been made so that they are fully compostable in your garden waste but also they are developed from indigenous skill sets which not only keeps the heritage alive but passes this onto a new generation of weavers.

Form, balance and function

Design development

When starting the design process the personal key developments happen on the stand, in this case in sculpting the moulds with our welder. In clothing I take a lot of time adjusting the details in draping and pattern cutting in theses bags there were many alterations of slight degrees to get the perfect form.

All designs of both bags and cloths - I wear repeatedly ensuring the function is as perfectly balanced as the form.
